One of the most established features of our output is the review of the newspapers.
We invite a wide range of commentators to look at the papers each morning and evening.
The purpose of the review is to highlight a selection of stories and for the press reviewers to express their opinions. It is a way of sparking a debate.
The views expressed by our commentators are theirs, not ours.
Inevitably, there are times when a press reviewer says something which provokes a response from you.
We welcome a healthy debate on topical issues - after all, that's why we're in business and it's part and parcel of the news environment.

James Whale was talking a lot of sense this morning. I say "James for Prime Minister".

Will there be TV changes as well?

Andrew, your comment should really be posted on the relevant blog ie the "New Look To Sky News" post.
I have spoken to Steve Bennedik, the Editor Sky News Networked Media, who referred to the "major redesign".
He says: "Sky News online is to re-launch later in the year. It’ll be a more video-rich site with some new features, including personalisation. Work is in progress."

Beau, we are always reviewing our graphics as I have pointed out in previous posts.
Sky News appointed a new Creative Director last August - see http://www.skypressoffice.co.uk/SkyNews/Resources/showarticle.asp?id=2204&year=2007.
You may have noticed that some changes have already been made to our newswalls and graphics backgrounds.
We are always looking to improve our brand identity but no changes are scheduled.

Jason, we are not trying to drive the manager out of his job.
Please see http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30400-1300959,00.html
We are reporting that Fabio Capello is under investigation in Italy for alleged tax evasion and that the FA says he has assured them his tax affairs are in order.
As for "more important things", there are plenty of other stories on the news agenda today which we are reporting ahead of the Fabio Capello story.

It's been rumoured Sky News is getting brand new look graphics, is this true?
PLEASE DON'T IGNORE MY POST!

What is the major redesign being talked about in the Editors' Blog?
Posted by: Andrew, Norwich 16 Jan 2008 13:51:01
What a surprise, Fabio Capello has been in the England job for a month, England have not even played a match under him and the media are already digging into his personal life.
Why can't you people report on more important things rather than driving every manager we get out of the job?
England will never win a major tournament as long as the media keep doing this. I don't care what goes on in this man's private life as long as he does something good for the national team.
Come on Sky get behind him and don't join the scum from the newspapers who want to destroy England just to sell papers.
